Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Underwriter to develop our Energy Property underwriting portfolio in Brazil.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property energy underwriting, with a genuine interest in the energy insurance market.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with brokers and clients to ensure proper documentation and business growth.
  • Analyze coverage, exposures, wordings, premiums, and insurability of energy risks (oil & gas facilities, petrochemicals, pipelines, mines, power plants).
  • Coordinate cross-selling opportunities within our organization.
  • Participate in special projects and contribute to team operations.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and clear communication with clients and brokers.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Property Energy Underwriting.
  • A deep understanding of main exposures and specificities across energy segments such as onshore energy, mining, and power & utilities.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex cases and make underwriting decisions.
  • Fluent English language skills (both written and spoken).
  • Strong knowledge of insurance/reinsurance and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a willingness to assist others.
  • Highly motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset to convert customer needs into deals.
