The Team Leader plays a vital role in ensuring the store runs efficiently and effectively.
As a key member of the team, you will assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in executing operational, sales, and merchandising objectives. You will deliver exceptional customer experiences, promoting a safe and productive work environment for all Team Members, customers, and vendors.
Key responsibilities include maintaining regular attendance, working scheduled shifts, and adhering to safety protocols. You will also be responsible for promoting a Legendary Customer Service through GURA:
- Greet the Customer
- Uncover Customer's Needs & Wants
- Recommend Product Solutions
- Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer
Additional duties may include:
- Executing assigned basic, promotional, and seasonal merchandising activities
- Performing Opening/Closing procedures
- Transporting and making deposits to bank
- Assessing store conditions and assigning duties
- Organizing and prioritizing workflow through the use of daily planners
- Recovering merchandise
- Participating in mandatory freight processes
- Performing regular and promotional price change activities
- Resolving customer complaints/issues and ensuring a Legendary shopping experience
- Adhering to loss prevention standards and responding to alarm calls as needed
- Communicating with Team Members on job functions, responsibilities, and financial goals
- Operating cash registers/computers and supervising cash handling procedures
- Assisting Team Members on appropriate application of policies and procedures
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of birds, sanitizing poultry holding tanks, and caring for birds as required
- Operating Forklifts and Balers
- Completing all documentation associated with these duties
- Obtaining licenses or certifications as needed by the business
Team Leaders are expected to adapt to changing situations and respond accordingly. This is a dynamic role that requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a commitment to excellence.
Required QualificationsExperience: Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is highly desirable. Supervisory experience is also preferred. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. However, candidates must be able to read, write, and count accurately.

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict
- Ability to perform and execute team member tasks
- Work environment is generally favorable, inside with moderate noise
- Work shifts vary from one store to another, but typically exceed 4 hours and may extend beyond 8 hours
- Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers, adhering to Company safety training and guidelines
- Indoor floors and outdoor lots are hard surfaces, lighting and temperature are adequate
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to move and transfer merchandise up to 50 pounds throughout the store
- Ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper material handling equipment assistance
- Ability to occasionally lift or reach merchandise overhead
- Ability to frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders
- Ability to move throughout the store for an entire shift
- Ability to operate and use all necessary equipment to run a store (e.g., dolly, handtruck, forklift, baler, computer, cash register)
- Ability to travel as required to support district needs
- This position is non-sedentary
