Job Description:

The Country Controller is responsible for overseeing tax and reporting compliance in Brazil. This individual will ensure the implementation of proper processes to provide accurate and timely financial reports.

Primary Functions:
  • Accounting Process Excellence: The successful candidate will drive process excellence for accounting operations in Brazil, including current state assessment, gap identification, future state design, and organizational alignment.
  • Order Management and Billing: This role requires managing all aspects of order management and operational billing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of customer billing, collaborating with Business Development, Legal, and Tax teams to identify and implement improvements in the Order to Cash (O2C) process.
  • Tax and Reporting Compliance: Supervising tax and reporting compliance for Brazil is a key responsibility of this position.
  • External Partnerships: The Country Controller will manage the relationship and activities of independent public accountants, third-party accounting firms, and external tax advisors.
  • Local Accounting and Reporting Systems: Ensuring compliance with GAAP and local statutory standards and regulatory requirements is essential for this role.
  • Metrics and Performance Monitoring: This position requires monitoring the accounting function using established metrics / Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Team Oversight: Overseeing in-house team and 3rd party service providers, ensuring compliance with GAAP and local reporting and regulatory standards.
  • Audit Coordination: Coordinating and managing all audits for US GAAP and statutory purposes, in a timely manner.
  • Internal Controls: Developing and maintaining internal control and safeguards over company assets, revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Developing and managing direct reports, including mentoring and coaching.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Working with FP&A to provide financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; monitoring progress and changes and updating senior leadership.
Secondary Functions:
  • Confidentiality and Integrity: Protecting operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Internal Communications: Providing leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Financial Conceptual Knowledge: Translating complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels, including finance and non-finance managers.
