Renewable Energy Operations Manager Job Description

This role focuses on the development and implementation of effective renewable energy operations strategies to optimize plant performance, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing management, or a related field, with experience in plant assembly, team building, and facility management. Additionally, they should possess hands-on knowledge of mechanical systems and testing equipment, as well as a solid understanding of EHS regulations and quality assurance processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facility Management: Determine production process and select appropriate manufacturing methods; complete facility layout and size calculation; assist with facility selection; identify required tooling and equipment and manage its installation.
  • Plant Operations: Lead setup of assembly processes, workflows, testing stations, and quality checkpoints for RNG system modules; oversee daily plant operations including mechanical assembly, test execution, inventory, logistics, and documentation; ensure the plant meets safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency goals.
  • Team Development & Leadership: Build and manage a multidisciplinary local team (technicians, assemblers, warehouse); develop and execute training programs for new hires and upskilling initiatives for current staff; promote a strong culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. They will be fluent in Portuguese and have professional proficiency in English. Experience in renewable energy or capital equipment manufacturing is an asset.
