Job Title: GIS Technology Architect

This role involves a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic leadership. As a hands-on professional, you will be responsible for designing and deploying enterprise GIS infrastructure and applications using Microsoft .NET, JavaScript, and Esri tools.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in architecting and implementing complex GIS solutions using Esri and Microsoft technologies. Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end solution design: infrastructure, application, data integration, and DevOps, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and reliability of GIS systems, defining best practices and standards for solution delivery across teams, collaborating closely with stakeholders and development teams in an Agile environment, and troubleshooting Esri Enterprise (ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, Portal for ArcGIS).

Technical Expertise & Focus Areas

GIS Infrastructure:
  • Planning, sizing, installing, configuring, upgrading, and managing Esri Enterprise (ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, Portal for ArcGIS)

Application Development:
  • Building GIS applications for web, desktop, and mobile using Experience Builder, Esri JavaScript API, .NET, REST endpoints, ArcObjects, ArcGIS Pro API, and ArcGIS Runtime. Includes CI/CD pipeline integration via DevOps.

ETL (Extract–Transform–Load):
  • Automating and managing geospatial and non-geospatial data pipelines using Python and Safe Software's FME. Key skills: ETL, automation, Model Builder, data triggers.

Geospatial Data Management:
  • Designing, maintaining, optimizing and troubleshooting enterprise geodatabases. Experience with ArcSDE, file-based geodatabases, spatiotemporal data stores, and services like WMS/WFS. Strong data modeling and indexing.

Enterprise GIS & DevOps:
  • Setup and manage Agile backlogs, CI/CD pipelines, user roles, content publishing, and performance monitoring in Enterprise GIS platforms.

Required Qualifications:
  • Fluent English
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, GIS, Geography, MIS, or related field
  • 8–12 years of overall experience in GIS, with at least 4 years in architecture roles
  • 8+ years of experience with Esri server technologies
  • 5+ years with Portal for ArcGIS and related Enterprise components
  • 5+ years in Esri JavaScript API
  • 5+ years in ASP.NET MVC/WebAPI (C#)
  • 5+ years in JavaScript and jQuery
  • 3+ years in Angular and/or PrimeNG (other JS frameworks are a plus)
  • 3+ years in Geospatial databases (ArcSDE, Oracle, SQL Server)
  • 2+ years in Python
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies

Nice to Have:
  • Industry knowledge in Oil & Gas or public sector GIS applications
