Job Summary

This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless operations and supporting a diverse team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and resolve equipment issues, perform emergency repairs, and conduct preventative maintenance.
  • Modify and upgrade products to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide on-site assistance and installation supervision.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of S&C products, including current and past vintages.
  • Utilize various hand tools (personal property) and specialty tools (supplied by S&C) on equipment such as Circuit-Switchers and Metal-Enclosed Gear in a de-energized and grounded state.

The Field Service Representative will collaborate closely with the Manager-Field Service Center to ensure successful field service execution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent technical experience.
  • Be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and possess exceptional mechanical skills.
  • Capable of interpreting electrical drawings and possessing computer proficiency.
  • Will to travel up to 60% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of previous experience in mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, or maintenance of electrical utility equipment, facilities, or products.

Physical Demands of the Job:

  • Standing: Frequent standing required for tasks.
  • Lifting: Frequent lifting necessary when working with equipment in the field (up to 50lbs).
  • Walking: Frequent walking of moderate distances (1 mile) within the campus and customer sites.
  • Carrying: Frequent carrying of parts, tools, and products.
  • Pushing: Frequent use of hand tools requiring pushing forces.
  • Pulling: Frequent bending or crouching to perform work.
  • Bending: Frequent full range of motion to perform work.
  • Reaching: Continuous full range of motion to perform work.
  • Handling: Frequent handling of parts, tools, test equipment, etc.

Work performed in various environments including manufacturing, substations, and other indoor/outdoor facilities.
