Key Responsibilities
  • Perform sonographic examinations under the direct supervision of the Physician and in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Report results of sonographic examinations and ensure patient safety and comfort during ultrasound procedures.
Clinical Imaging Responsibilities
  • Acquire and analyze data obtained using ultrasound and related diagnostic technologies.
Patient Care and Safety
  • Greet patients and guests, explain ultrasound procedures, prepare patients for appropriate examination according to department policies.
  • Support patients and their families in a compassionate manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Verify accuracy of ultrasound requisition by checking physician's orders in the patient's medical record.
  • Interview patients to gather history pertinent to the ultrasound examination.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
  • Maintain equipment as instructed. Report equipment failures to the Lead Sonographer.
Professional Development
  • Participate in continuing education and demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
