
Senior Commercial Strategist

The Business Controller plays a pivotal role in steering commercial team activities, focusing on business decision-making and opportunity identification. This position aims to enhance transparency and drive business targets by partnering closely with sales, operations, product lines, R&D, and management teams within the business unit.
Primary Responsibilities:- Drive profitable growth through margin analysis and provide transparent business status updates to stakeholders, anticipating and mitigating potential business risks.
- Anticipate market developments/external trends, staying ahead of competitors and markets to build effective solutions. Coordinate budget and forecast cycles with relevant functions to prepare reliable and explainable budgets and forecasts.
- Perform variance analysis against budget and forecast to bridge business gaps and provide actionable proposals to mitigate unexpected impacts and recover performance.
- Define relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational and commercial success.
- Monitor performance within the business unit.
- Own product cost through projects and drive cost reduction initiatives to remain competitive in new markets.
- Follow up on sales and product performance in revenue after product launches.
- Drive financial performance improvement initiatives throughout the business (cost reduction, asset management, capital efficiency, productivity, etc.).
- Initiate and lead harmonization and improvement projects.
- Provide ad hoc analysis to address business needs.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to anticipate market trends.
- Skilled in KPI definition and performance monitoring.
- Expertise in product costing and cost optimization.
- Effective project leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
