Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our dynamic team as a Public Policy Lead. This key role will be responsible for enhancing our advocacy efforts before state and local policymakers in Brazil.

About the Role

This position involves developing and executing government affairs strategies and advocacy objectives on behalf of AWS and our customers in Brazil. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between core business priorities, public policy goals, and 'go to market' strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Government Affairs Strategies: Create and implement effective government affairs strategies and advocacy objectives to promote AWS' interests in Brazil.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with sales, commercial, and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment between business priorities, public policy goals, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Facilitate Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate meetings between AWS executives, experts, and key stakeholders, including policymakers, industry associations, and alliance partners, to promote and advocate for our public policy initiatives.
  • Leverage Corporate Membership Opportunities: Leverage membership opportunities in industry associations and policy organizations to support AWS' public policy objectives.
Requirements
  • Advanced Degree Required: Advanced degree required in a relevant field such as law, political science, international relations, public policy, or engineering.
  • 10+ Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience in government or corporate public policy, preferably in the ICT industry.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and Portuguese, both spoken and written.
  • Policy Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the policy-making process and digital transformation framework in Brazil.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
