Key Responsibilities

The Supply Chain Expert plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless and compliant movement of international shipments.

Accountabilities
  • Conduct thorough research on trade and regulatory requirements for international shipments, collaborating with external vendors.
  • Verify shipping documentation and conduct country-specific research. Perform audits on shipping documents and external partner-provided documentation to ensure compliance with export regulations, communicating with brokers and other external parties.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Legal and Tax, to ensure imports/exports are conducted in a compliant manner.
  • Assist global team members in providing timely clearance instructions to customs brokers and resolving problem shipments.
  • Review and ensure that all commercial documents related to STOs are in place and compliant with shipping practices.
  • Review and approve commercial invoices.
  • Approve Trade documents, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Airway Bills within 24 business hours.
  • Manage Order Form entry via internal systems.
  • Support Tax and Customs audits in alignment with the Regional Compliance Team.
  • Collaborate with Client Trade Compliance teams and Third-Party Logistics Service Providers (3PLs) to ensure international shipments comply with export & import regulations.
  • Perform Due Diligence on external parties in accordance with Legal requirements.
  • Monitor and manage PII and Denied Party Screening requests.
  • Maintain brokerage performance reports.
  • Coordinate and resolve or escalate inbound international shipments held at customs.
  • Carry out emerging markets research to determine shipping and compliance regulations in new locations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and extended logistics teams, providing expert advice on customs clearance, brokerage, classification, valuation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Help summarize regional compliance performance metrics.
  • Assist in creating client-facing reports (Monthly Business Reviews/Quarterly Business Reviews - MBR/QBR).
  • Develop and track action items and deliverables arising from performance reviews or client requests.
  • Own communication with client program managers.
  • Ensure client-specific processes are clearly communicated and consistently followed by the internal team.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with client managers.
  • Provide timely updates and clarifications on shipments as needed.
