Field Service Engineer

Job Summary
Bruker, a leading analytical instrumentation company, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide technical support for our MALDI Biotyper products in South America. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing and qualifying new instruments, providing basic operating training, and offering remote and on-site technical support to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and qualify new MALDI Biotyper instruments at customer sites, including hospitals, government labs, and universities
- Provide basic operating training to customers
- Offer remote and on-site technical support to customers
- Diagnose instrument problems and order required parts for repair from our local service center in Atibaia, Sao Paulo
- Work closely with factory experts and the TPS department on troubleshooting and failure diagnostics problems
- Perform preventive maintenance visits as required by service contracts
- Participate in regular training courses in the US and Europe to stay up-to-date on the product line and any new software and hardware features
- Prepare timely reports on each service call to the Service Manager
- Work according to our quality system and in compliance with regulatory requirements for medical equipment
- Travel on a 24-hour notice to provide immediate technical support to customers in hospitals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, biotech, or chemical engineering, or equivalent experience
- Professional experience in diagnosing, repairing, and servicing analytical instruments based on optical spectrometry, mass spectrometry, or similar technology
- Experience in a clinical lab environment is preferred
- Fluency in Portuguese and Spanish, with basic English skills for intercompany communication and international training courses
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively, with more than 60% of the time spent on the road
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, Excel, and WebEx
- Strong presentation and communication skills
