Job Title: Tax Director

A leading role for a seasoned professional in finance and taxation is available. We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Director to lead our tax compliance efforts and ensure the company's financial well-being.


Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax returns, declarations, and payments, in compliance with Brazilian tax laws and regulations.
  • Supervise tax compliance work, including tax calculations, invoices, and records, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Properly archive tax documents and records for at least 5 years as stipulated by Brazilian tax laws and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date on tax reforms and updates in Brazil, alerting management to potential impacts on local business operations and tax treatments.
  • Evaluate the potential tax costs and implications of business decisions, contract terms, and new business models.
  • Optimize tax costs legally, using tax incentives, deductions, exemptions, and other preferential tax treatments while avoiding tax evasion or fraud.
  • Identify and mitigate potential tax risk points, such as transfer pricing, permanent establishments, and indirect tax calculation errors.
  • Respond to tax authority inquiries and notifications, initiating administrative litigation or judicial procedures by statutory deadlines.
  • Represent the company in negotiations with tax authorities, including pre-ruling, tax incentives, installment payment plans, and tax debt negotiation.
  • Collaborate closely with the financial team, auditors, and tax agents to ensure accurate reflection of financial data in tax returns.
  • Cross-departmental communication with procurement, sales, human resources, legal, and other teams to ensure tax compliance requirements are met.
  • Report important tax issues, risks, opportunities, and compliance evaluations to management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or above in finance, taxation, or a related field.
  • Professional tax practitioner qualification certificate, familiar with Brazilian tax laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Over 15 years of experience in finance or taxation, with more than 8 years of team management experience.
  • Strong communication skills, teamwork spirit, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English.
  • Working experience in digital platforms is preferred.
