Summary:
Test engineers design, develop, and maintain test procedures, tester hardware, and software for electronic circuit board production. They work on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes, ensuring high-quality products meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit and interview process technicians to fill vacant positions.
- Communicate criteria to recruiters for candidates applying for process technician roles.
- Coach technicians in interviewing and hiring processes to ensure consistency and fairness.
- Analyze team member turnover rates, identify key factors contributing to turnover, and implement improvements to enhance job satisfaction and retention.
- Lead engineering and technical personnel in the fabrication of testing equipment and apparatus.
- Direct operational, functional, and performance phases of tests to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Perform moderately complex assignments of the engineering test function for standard and custom devices.
- Develop or use computer software and hardware to conduct tests on machinery and equipment, leveraging expertise in electronics and electrical engineering.
- Train production testing staff in new procedures to maintain a skilled workforce and support continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Three to five years of experience in test engineering or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
