Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team. This role involves cutting and building packages of engineered wood products by performing various duties.

  • Maintain and inspect chainsaws and other tools
  • Read and understand order and materials
  • Pull material for orders
  • Measure and cut material
  • Mark cutoffs, if applicable
  • Build, band and distinguish pack by hand or with forklift operators assistance
  • Label packs with appropriate customer information
  • Cut blocks for flat packs, if applicable
  • Replace banding in carts when empty
  • General Housekeeping and Office related tasks
  • Sweep and maintain yard/warehouse
  • Pick up litter, lumber waste, cardboard and other waste and dispose of in proper receptacle(s)
  • Inventory control, cycle counting, maintenance and control
  • Photocopying
  • Maintain clean, safe work environment
Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of building lumber packs
  • Experience in a lumber/steel yard and/or loading and unloading trucks

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within our facility. You will need to have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:
  • Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work at heights and lift heavy objects
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
