Employee Relations Manager (Fixed Term Position)

Johnson & Johnson is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to join our ERLR Team in Sao Paulo, Brazil. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing operational activities, ensuring timely and compliant handling of grievances, and providing advice and counsel to ER/LR Specialists.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage assigned operational activities to achieve target key performance indicators, operational level agreements, and service levels.
  2. Ensure timely and compliant handling of all assigned grievance, discipline, and policy interpretation requests and provide advice and counsel to ER/LR Specialists.
  3. Conduct collective bargaining agreement negotiations and contract administration.
  4. Be the focal point for labor relations matters at the manufacturing plant.
  5. Drive direct interventions with Managers and employees on the most sensitive cases and escalations.
  6. Stay current on country employment and labor practices. Ensure workplace policies are current and in compliance with applicable local laws and notify management of regulatory changes.
  7. Develop ER/LR policies for a region or a country.
  8. Attend hearings at Courts, the Ministry of Labor, and other government agencies.
  9. Deliver ER/LR training for ER professionals, BUHR, and People Leaders.
  10. Deliver ER/LR change and communications work, including stakeholder management.
  11. Develop staff capability, knowledge, skills, and understanding of the country or countries and work locations by organizing frequent functional/operational training and knowledge sharing activities for members of the team.
  12. Conduct environmental scans and participate in significant workplace events (such as the planning and execution of RIFs, M&As, etc. at the cluster/country level).
  13. Understand the Key Performance Indicators and operational metrics that are critical to managing service delivery in order to achieve Service Level Agreements and meet customer service standards. Interpret and translate business metrics into insights.
  14. Make recommendations on continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the provision of services by reviewing and providing feedback on operational processes, policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions and introduce key improvement plans for execution.
  15. Prepare written reports, communications, and other documents supporting assigned work.
Qualifications
  1. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required.
  2. A minimum of 6 years progressive HR experience with a concentration in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, and HR Generalist experience researching, investigating, and addressing employee misconduct and below job performance standards; providing guidance to management.
  3. Strong Labor Relations and change management background.
  4. Strong leadership skills; operates as a global leader with understanding and appreciation for regional differences.
  5. Ability to establish a culture focused on speed, accountability, and continuous improvement while building employee-centric repeatable and sustainable processes.
  6. Relationship management, coaching, and collaboration skills, with leaders at all levels and key stakeholders.
  7. Advanced English level.
