Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to join our team. As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining test procedures, tester hardware, and software for electronic circuit board production.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Management
  • Recruit and interview Test Engineers
  • Communicate criteria to recruiters for Process Technician position candidates
  • Coach Test Engineers in the interviewing/hiring process
  • Monitor team member turnover and identify key factors for improvement
Employee and Team Development
  • Identify individual and team strengths and development needs
  • Create and/or validate training curriculum
  • Coach and mentor Test Engineers to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer
Performance Management
  • Establish clear measurable goals and objectives
  • Solicit ongoing feedback from Assistant Test Engineering Manager, Workcell Manager, Business Unit Manager, peers, and team members
  • Provide ongoing coaching and counseling to team members based on feedback
  • Perform team member evaluations professionally and on time
Communication
  • Provide a communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information with the department
  • Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style
  • Ask questions and encourage input from team members

Functional Management Responsibilities

  1. Business Strategy and Direction
  • Know and understand the campus strategic directions
  • Define, develop, and implement Test Engineering strategies that contribute to the campus strategic directions
Cost Management
  • Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems
  • Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends

Technical Management Responsibilities

  1. Perform duties that involve conventional engineering practices
  2. Manage the engineering test function for standard and/or custom devices
  3. Compile and document data necessary to analyze performance and make recommendations for changes in the testing process
  4. Assist in the development of special test equipment and software test programs

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering from a college or university, and five to ten years of experience.
