The portfolio manager is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of dealer clients across a designated geographic territory with lines of credit ranging from $50,000 to $2.5M.
Primary responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with clients, optimizing the portfolio through clients' use of the line of credit, identifying and mitigating pre-default account risk, and supporting post-default collections on defaulted accounts.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize each client's use of the line of credit within an assigned portfolio whose lines of credit range from $50,000 to $2,500,000 by acting as a floor plan subject matter expert to their portfolio of clients.
- Achieve goals and performance targets as set by collaborating with internal partners to drive revenue and maximize profitability through prudent account management, controlled growth, and risk mitigation.
- Educate clients on desired performance behaviors, self-service options, and best practices and coach them to ensure compliance with company policies and expectations.
- Collect and analyze client financial information and various internal reports and dashboards to assess and monitor dealer performance and address with the dealer as appropriate to drive growth and manage risk.
- Utilize historical data and tools to identify targets for opportunity of growth and determine clients that are having financial distress.
- Collaborate and strategize with Risk and Recovery department with pre-default risk mitigation and post default collection efforts on defaulted accounts within a specified timeframe. Minimize loss and maximize recovery.
- Physical inspection of inventory, and accuracy of audits and repossession as necessary. Inspect what is expected to ensure quality control, inventory, audit self-reconciliation, addition of inventory, and buying behaviors.
- Serve as a fiduciary for ensuring material client or internal non-compliance with policies, attempted or actual fraud upon the company, or any other circumstance that may require identification and reporting to protect the company.
- Operate with the highest level of integrity and always strive to achieve the best outcome for both clients and the company.
- Detailed documentation in Salesforce of all conversations, activities, and client interactions as required by KPIs. Complete all Salesforce campaigns as required.
- Responsible for onboarding new clients to ensure a positive and successful client experience.
- Cultivate cross-functional business unit relationships and opportunities.
- Participate and support other projects and initiatives as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Education: BA/BS degree with 4+ years related experience in finance, client-facing, B2B, account management, and/or collections required.
- Automotive Industry Background: Preferred but not required.
- Financial Knowledge and Acumen: Preferred but not required.
- This role requires visiting clients at least 60% of the time with occasional required overnight travel.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Valid driver's license required for this position.
