We are seeking a highly skilled logistics procurement leader to manage regional logistics costs for chemical products.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the logistics market dynamics for chemical supply chains and regulatory compliance.

  • This role requires cost-effective, safe, and compliant transportation solutions aligned with operational and business needs.

About the Role

This is a critical leadership position that plays a key role in managing regional logistics costs for chemical products.

  • The Logistics Procurement Leader will be responsible for managing regional logistics costs for chemical products, including road, sea, and air transportation as well as warehousing.

Responsibilities

The Logistics Procurement Leader will be responsible for:

  • Sourcing and negotiating contracts for warehousing and freight services (road, sea, air) tailored to the specific requirements of chemical products, including hazardous materials.
  • Monitoring logistics market trends, fuel surcharges, and carrier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and EH&S teams to align logistics strategies with production schedules, safety standards, and customer requirements.
  • Addressing and resolving price negotiation, KPIs disruptions, and compliance issues with logistics providers, ensuring minimal impact on operations.
  • Maintaining accurate logistics cost data and supplier information in ERP/procurement systems; supporting reporting and analytics for performance tracking.
  • Ensuring all logistics activities comply with chemical transport regulations, internal safety policies, and sustainability goals.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Logistics, SCM, Finance, Engineering, Economy, or similar areas.
  • Proven experience in logistics procurement within the chemical or hazardous materials sector.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Knowledge of chemical transport regulations, SCM, Incoterms, and safety standards.
  • Analytical skills with experience in cost modeling and logistics KPIs.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), advanced Excel skills, procurement tools: we can provide training for Tableau, TMS, Coupa, if needed.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Fluent English and intermediate Spanish required as part of daily activities.
