Job Description

About Your Role

The Operations Manager reports directly to the Senior Director of Operational Excellence and indirectly to the Operations & Supply Chain Director for Latin America, Label and Graphics Materials. This role leads the manufacturing environment to meet operations, quality, and cost objectives, overseeing day-to-day operations and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).

Your Responsibilities

  • People Management
    • Train and provide development opportunities for staff, ensuring annual goals are completed and communicated.
    • Use the Global Performance Management System frequently.
    • Monitor and evaluate team members, adjusting training as needed.
    • Attract, retain, and develop high-potential talent.
    • Model and promote the Corporation's Code of Business Ethics and Values.
    • Act as a team role model and change-agent.
  • Operations
    • Drive operational results and execution of operations improvement plans, setting operations improvement goals and ensuring priorities and accountabilities are clear.
    • Focus on improving performance through efficiency and lean manufacturing efforts, supported by the Platform team.
    • Drive execution of operations improvement plans, setting employees' improvement goals and ensuring priorities and accountabilities are clear within the team.
    • Oversee the practice of all health and safety procedures, ensuring safety is employees' top priority.
    • Understand and comply with legal, legislative, and corporate safety requirements.
    • Enable manufacturing team members to meet site goals and objectives.
    • Participate in the establishment of sites' annual operating plans.
    • Ensure tracking and use of key performance indicators to promote improved operational and business results.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams among operations and commercial areas globally.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of operations/manufacturing experience with 3+ years of managing teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in engineering, industrial management, or a related field.
  • Skilled in analyzing and drawing information for daily operational needs and improvement for the team.
  • Skilled in scheduling and planning, budgeting, and control.
  • Skilled in designing and implementing operation improvement strategies for safety, cost, quality, training, inventory, and services.
  • Strong ability to manage, coach, and develop a diverse team of individuals performing a variety of tasks.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in leading and managing individuals and teams.
  • Knowledge of assigned manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Experience in leading continuous improvement efforts and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Operating Principles.
  • Strong customer focus, communication, planning, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to think ahead, anticipate problems, make decisions, and take appropriate action.
  • Good organizational skills in strategy, communication at all levels, and execution.
  • Good leadership skills, with the ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization.
  • Good language skills, with English required.
  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, G Suite, and function-specific software.
  • Organizational and people skills, project management skills, with the ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely and concise manner.
