Procurement Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing incoming purchase requisitions, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and communicating effectively with vendors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review incoming purchase requisitions to validate materials requirements and prioritize accordingly.
  2. Ensure fixed pricing agreements with suppliers are utilized to maximize cost savings.
  3. Communicate efficiently with vendors and stakeholders.
  4. Self-report performance against yearly KPI targets.
  5. Establish relationships with key vendors and stakeholders.
  6. Collaborate with Supply Chain Managers, Procurement Leads, and Category Managers to identify optimal procurement strategies.
  7. Adhere to company-approved supplier lists and obtain approval from local Supply Chain Manager and/or global Supply Chain Director as needed.
  8. Obtain and review quotes in accordance with relevant company and local procedures.
  9. Follow up promptly on clarifications and requests for information from suppliers or the rig.
  10. Prepare purchase orders using approved software.
  11. Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures regarding approval processes, authority, SOX compliance, and FCPA.
  12. Review assigned material and service requisitions for accurate preparation of Purchase Orders.
  13. Assess economics of local purchases versus foreign purchases considering quality, certification, costs, and lead times.
  14. Continuously review open purchase orders and expedite overdue and outstanding POs with suppliers.
  15. Process invoices and assist account payables with invoice discrepancies.
  16. Maintain knowledge of company supply chain and financial procedures.
  17. Document procurement problems for effective resolution and prevention.
  18. Resolve procurement-related incidents reported by end-users.
  19. Complete additional tasks assigned by Supply Chain Supervisor or Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • General understanding of Supply Chain principles, processes, and supporting tools.
  • Knowledge of logistics and shipping management, commercial concerns, operational imperatives, and decision-making regarding global materials sourcing decisions.
  • Effective communication with Procure-2-Pay teams and key stakeholders.
  • Willingness to improve process efficiencies.
  • Proficient computer skills, competency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with procurement systems.
