Metadata Management Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Metadata Management Specialist to lead our efforts in data management and governance.

Job Description:

The Metadata Management Specialist will be responsible for establishing policies and processes to ensure the integration, access, sharing, linking, analysis, and maintenance of data across the organization. This role involves identifying and capturing knowledge about data to drive literacy, quality, productivity, and value.

The specialist will work to enable business users to find the data they need and understand its use and meaning. This requires a collaborative approach to capture and enable understanding of and access to data and analytical assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a collaborative approach to capture and enable understanding of and access to data and analytical assets.
  • Lead development of standards around how key high-value data elements are named, categorized, tracked, and managed.
  • Capture technical metadata in collaboration with other teams.
  • Provide organization-wide understanding of terms and usage of data.
  • Ensure creation and maintenance of metadata meets quality and security requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical/analytical field.
  • Understanding of data governance and metadata management principles.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard data cataloguing tools preferred.
  • Any Data Governance, Analytics, or Quality processes experience is preferred.
