Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Oil Processing Engineer to join our team in a senior role. As a key member of our Process and Control Systems Department, you will provide technical expertise and support in the areas of Crude Oil Processing.

As an Oil Processing Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to provide technical leadership in the evaluation of new technologies and processes to improve plant performance. You will also be responsible for developing plans and roadmaps for reviewing and incorporating new technologies, conducting simulations studies using process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, and preparing preliminary scope of work for debottlenecking existing facilities or designing new facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for Crude Oil processing operating plants, troubleshoot major plant upsets and/or chronic operational problems, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement plans to review and incorporate new technologies to improve plant performance.
  • Conduct simulations studies using process simulation software to evaluate the impact of new technologies on plant performance.
  • Prepare preliminary scope of work for debottlenecking existing facilities or designing new facilities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in Chemical Engineering and significant experience working directly with Oil processing equipment such as Gas/Liquid Gravity Separators, Liquid/Liquid Gravity Separators, Electrostatic Coalescers, and Crude Stabilizers.

Minimum 20 years of experience in Oil Processing is required, with at least 3 years working with Crude Processing Facilities. A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred, with a Master's degree or higher education desirable but not required.

Membership of a recognized professional institute is preferred, and adequate design experience is necessary to take a lead role as the company representative when working with engineering companies performing studies and design activities for Oil Processing projects.

Desirable Skills:
  • Expertise in process simulation modeling using Aspen HYSYS.
  • Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) Analysis.
