Finance Operations Professional

This role is focused on supporting the operations of our organization as a Finance expert, monitoring manufacturing performance and driving improvements to processes. You will collaborate with a global team on day-to-day operations such as problem-solving to manufacturing Locomotives.

Key responsibilities include leading site-level closing activities, driving transparency and predictability, and providing strong variance analysis. Additionally, you will support budgeting and rolling forecasting, explain variances on volume, mix, based cost, variable cost, project savings, and connect to manufacturing performance metrics for end customers.

You will also perform analytics for labor and overhead rates and productivity in manufacturing and service. This includes defining, aligning, and executing effective finance and operation processes regarding closing activities. Furthermore, you will lead communications between finance and operation on estimates, actuals, risks, opportunities, and planning.

Metrically, you will measure working capital and drive projects to improve asset turnover. Understanding and driving appropriate trade-offs between cash and operations is crucial. Your knowledge in different costing methods (standard, average, full-cost vs variable cost) will be valuable.

This position requires 3+ years of experience in Finance Operation or FP&A, with strong analytical skills, navigating ambiguity through structured, hypothesis-driven problem solving. Advanced level knowledge in Microsoft Excel is necessary. Desirable Microsoft Power BI experience is also beneficial. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including the ability to speak to different teams such as product, engineering, and sales internally and externally are required.
