Air Transportation Manager Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Air Transportation Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing air cargo operations, developing and implementing process improvements, and collaborating with internal teams to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Air Cargo Operations Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with air carrier partners
  • Track and analyze carrier performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, capacity utilization, and shipment quality
  • Identify areas for improvement and work with carriers to develop action plans to address any issues
Process Improvement
  • Collaborate with internal teams to forecast and plan capacity requirements based on volume projections, peak seasons, and business needs
  • Ensure adequate capacity is available to meet service level agreements
  • Continuously evaluate carrier performance, network routes, and service levels to identify optimization opportunities
Stakeholder Management
  • Develop contingency plans and work closely with carriers to minimize any potential impact
  • Communicate results to senior leadership
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Program or project management experience
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • Experience defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
