Electronics Lab Technician

  • The primary role of the Electronics Lab Technician is to support the IC designers and test engineers in preparation and execution of chips and product qualification tests.
  • This involves setting up test setups for measurement and completing tests on packaged samples and bare dies using a die prober.
  • Automation software configuration and execution are also key responsibilities, as well as providing support for operating prototyping and production test equipment.
  • An additional requirement is soldering, mounting components, and designing printed circuit boards.
  • The candidate must be able to purchase materials and components, follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), provide feedback to optimize SOPs, and be responsible for lab infrastructure maintenance.
  • Key skills include developing new or modified process formulations, defining processing or handling equipment requirements and specifications, reviewing processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of products.
  • Project participation at any stage, from pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing, ensuring design requirement reviews with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to maintain compatibility of processing methods, is also required.
  • Compilation and evaluation of test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications, conceiving and planning projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes.
Requirements
  • At least three years of experience as an electronics lab technician or in a related area.
  • A basic understanding of IC components.
  • Ability to read and interpret datasheets/technical documents.
  • Experience with PCB drawing software and LPKF (PCB prototyping equipment) is advantageous.
  • Standard test and measurement equipment knowledge including spectrum analyzers, power meters, signal generators, and oscilloscope.
  • Die prober and micromanipulator usage is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Python programming language is beneficial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications (Portuguese).
  • Good reading and writing in English.
  • Initiative for process and flow improvements and commitment to a motivated, respectful, accountable, and inquisitive work style.
