Lead Materials Manager Job Opportunity

The ideal candidate will play a key role in the management of material entering, storing, and shipping. This is an opportunity for an experienced leader to step into a challenging role, drive success, lead change, and make an impact.

Responsibilities:
  • Assume responsibility of the materials team and familiarize yourself with all procedures associated with each department
  • Manage all materials movements throughout the facility
  • Set goals on performance and safety standards
  • Ensure adequate supplies, tools, and equipment for your teams to be successful
  • Align with the master schedule in setting priorities and workload for departments
  • Monitor employee productivity
  • Commitment to cycle count accuracy
  • Oversee internal and external audits of the materials group
  • Support customer oversight requirements
  • Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures
  • Evaluate areas to improve within both departments
  • Take ownership of coaching and developing staff and recruit as necessary
Requirements:
  • Must be a sole U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain security clearances
  • Associate degree or equivalent and 5+ years of experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Self-starter, goal-oriented, customer-focused, detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to problem solve and overcome scheduling challenges
  • Lean and/or Six-Sigma experience and knowledge is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to energize and build consensus with staff, peers, and direct reports
