Lead Software Engineer

We are seeking a proactive Tech Lead who will collaborate with our cross-functional teams in the Brazilian market to create and maintain customer-oriented technology solutions. Our teams prioritize comprehensive ownership, and you will partner with engineering and product teams to ensure their success. Your role will involve guiding our engineers to maximize their potential, enhancing their existing skills, and fostering new competencies for their professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a technical and leadership figure for a diverse squad of engineers focused on delivering and sustaining our essential banking systems. Oversee technical execution, including active participation in design processes and code evaluations, offering constructive feedback to promote team independence and a robust, maintainable codebase. Work closely with the Product Manager to establish objectives and key results (OKRs) for the team. Shape software architecture within the squad and facilitate coordination with other teams. Advocate for the strategic vision of the company across the broader platform. Foster and endorse a hands-on culture characterized by high observability and a 'build-it, support-it' mentality. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to assess performance and guide your team in their career development and optimal use of their skills. Participate in the hiring process as we continue to expand, contributing to the onboarding of new engineers. Enhance our engineering culture by leading initiatives that strengthen the team, such as offsite events, hackathons, inter-team projects, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Ensure that the squad's operational excellence practices lead to an outstanding experience for our merchants.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A minimum of one year of experience as a hands-on Tech Lead, complemented by over five years in software development. Practical experience with backend-focused engineering teams and familiarity with modern programming languages we utilize (Golang, Elixir, Python), along with proficiency in AWS. A strong grasp of fundamental design principles, data modeling, and API architecture. Proven track record in building and maintaining high-scale, high-throughput, and high-availability systems within agile frameworks. An empathetic communicator and active listener with a flexible, servant leadership approach, adept at applying development and feedback methodologies.
