About the Role

Amazon Servicos de Varejo do Brasil Ltda. is seeking a highly skilled Global Category Manager to join our Corporate Procurement team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading strategic sourcing engagements across various business units to drive innovation and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Global Sourcing Strategies: Collaborate with business leaders to develop and implement global sourcing strategies that meet business objectives and drive sustainable relationships with suppliers.
  • Evaluate Supplier Competencies: Assess supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and benchmarking analysis.
  • Manage Sourcing and Supplier Engagement: Oversee the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities, including RFX, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.
  • Drive Savings and Controllership Improvements: Work with business and finance leaders to identify and drive savings and controllership improvements, focusing on total cost of ownership.
  • Provide Guidance and Support: Offer guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement processes and maintain procurement ethics in accordance with Amazon's global policies.
  • Business Reviews and Negotiations: Prepare and hold business reviews with stakeholders to review vendor performance, future opportunities, and challenges. Conduct negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Strong Analytical and Negotiation Skills: Possess strong analytical skills and proven experience in setting negotiation strategies and conducting negotiations.
  • Customer Focus and Project Management: Demonstrate a customer-focused approach and possess the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of relevant strategic sourcing experience, including experience in an indirect procurement function at a multinational corporation with global contracts.
  • In-depth experience in best-in-class procurement practices (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.).
  • Education: BS/BA Degree in a related field.
  • Language proficiency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese (written and spoken).
  • Master's Degree (MBA/MS).
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial agreement structures and key legal terms.
  • Ability to assess risk and concisely explain complex issues to principal business owners.
