Financial Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join our team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for performing month-end close processes, preparing and submitting reports to regulatory bodies, and managing entity-wide Balance Sheet Reconciliation Processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial analysis, with proficiency in IFRS/Bacen GAAP and data analysis skills. They will also possess excellent communication and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Perform month-end close process;
  • Prepare and submit reports to local regulator;
  • Manage entity-wide Balance Sheet Reconciliation Process;
  • Work on reconciliation and GL review processes/projects involving data and spreadsheets manipulation;
  • Calculate amounts and raise relevant general ledger journals for specific accounts;
  • Provide financial and regulatory reporting to group as required;
  • Work on projects to automate/streamline month-end process areas, including offshoring;
  • Ensure compliance with internal/external regulations and procedures;
  • Produce primary/supplementary data for group reporting with business commentary;
  • Liaise with business/support areas; challenge numbers and obtain information;
  • Manage stakeholders/provide ad-hoc analysis for senior management;
  • Participate in local product discussions;
  • Contribute to system changes/transformation projects;
  • Implement new reporting requirements;
  • Liaise with auditors/facilitate requests;
Requirements
  • Qualified accountant;
  • Proficiency in IFRS/Bacen GAAP;
  • Understanding of HSBC's activities/products/processes/systems;
  • Data analysis skills; medium to advanced Excel/database skills;
  • Excellent communication/tact/diplomacy skills;
  • Time management/prioritization skills;
  • Self-motivation/enthusiasm/proven learning capability;
  • Accounting experience in financial institution;
  • English/portuguese proficiency;
  • Accounting degree;

Candidate must be confident dealing with various stakeholders, have self-awareness and confidence to work independently.
