About Mercai:

Mercai is a dynamic startup that provides access to international raw material suppliers through technology for small and medium-sized manufacturers in Mexico. We focus on the plastic resins and steel markets and plan to expand into new categories, developing innovative technological solutions to streamline our clients' sourcing processes.

Business Context:

Mercai operates in a competitive B2B environment where strategic relationships, a strong market presence, and an effective product strategy are crucial for growth. This role combines product growth and marketing responsibilities to build an omnichannel strategy that enhances Mercai's presence in digital and offline spaces.

Role Summary:

We seek a Head of Product Growth to lead the development and execution of integrated product and marketing strategies. This individual will be responsible for growing Mercai's brand presence, enhancing user acquisition and retention through both online and offline channels, and driving product engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an integrated growth and marketing strategy that leverages digital and offline channels to enhance Mercai's visibility and user engagement.
  • Ensure alignment between marketing strategies and product enhancements to maximize user acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Manage and grow a multidisciplinary team, including marketing specialists, and external agencies, ensuring cohesive execution across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Oversee brand positioning and messaging strategies, ensuring Mercai is effectively represented in both online and offline B2B spaces.
  • Organize and manage offline marketing events, such as webinars, trade shows, and industry partnerships, to build relationships and enhance Mercai's presence in the industrial sector.
  • Implement growth experiments, A/B testing, and other optimization techniques to improve conversion rates and user experience.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities for product and marketing initiatives.
  • Build and manage a marketing budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and a high return on investment for campaigns and product growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Engineering, and Customer Success) to develop an integrated strategy that aligns product development and marketing efforts with overall business goals.
  • Analyze performance metrics and KPIs across product and marketing initiatives to make data-driven decisions and refine strategies for better outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or postgraduate degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role combining product growth and marketing responsibilities, preferably in a B2B environment with a track record of leading zero-to-one projects.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing integrated marketing and growth strategies that drive business results both online and offline.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external vendors, with strong leadership skills to inspire collaboration and high performance.
  • Expertise in market research, customer insights, and analytics tools for tracking performance and making data-driven decisions.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
