Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director of Loans to join our team. This role involves determining student eligibility for financial aid and administering all phases of the financial aid process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Needs analysis, financial aid packaging, budgeting, counseling, and problem resolution for financial aid applicants
  • Exercising professional judgment according to federal regulations, U.S. Department of Education, and university guidelines
  • Processing electronic data using appropriate technology and software
  • Reviewing and editing electronic applicant and other data
  • Checking and validating accuracy of Pell payments using information from Records, Student Financial Services, the U.S. Department of Education, and all federal regulated sources
  • Reconciling duplicate Pell and Direct Loan disbursements
  • Resolving Pell Overpayment awards (POP) and Multiple Record Reporting (MRR) between reporting institutions
  • Processed entrance and exit interviews for direct loan recipients; in addition to clearing related holds
  • Importing and exporting records via EdConnect – ISIR records, Master Promissory Notes (MPN), Entrance/Exit Counseling, Pell disbursements, Loan disbursements, reconciliation reports via COD, and etc.
  • Coordinating, completing, and maintaining records to comply with the requirements of the U.S. Department of Education
Requirements
  • Functional knowledge of federal financial aid delivery systems, program legislation, and needs analysis procedures
  • Ability to objectively evaluate each student's eligibility for assistance
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, associated software, and Banner
  • Functional knowledge of and the ability to apply appropriate counseling techniques
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with competency in oral and written English
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious and effective work relations with students, staff, faculty, and the general public
