About the Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive web application audits, network penetration tests, source code evaluations, cloud security/configuration reviews, hardware assessments, and mobile penetration tests across diverse industries and environments.
  • Generate detailed penetration testing reports in English, outlining the methodologies employed to exploit vulnerabilities and providing actionable remediation recommendations.
  • Develop and script tools and exploits during engagements to demonstrate vulnerabilities with proof or create meaningful test cases to validate attack theories.
  • Adopt a hands-on approach to penetration testing, utilizing minimal automation to ensure thorough examinations of targets for optimal results.
  • Collaborate with team members on client assessments, emphasizing teamwork and collective effort, as solo engagements are uncommon.
  • Contribute to the development of in-house tools (Python) to enhance the penetration testing process.
  • Engage with clients, participating in discussions for scoping, kick-offs, and findings to communicate the scope, status, results, and remediation strategies, while ensuring the smooth progression of tests and escalating issues as necessary.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proficient in executing in-depth penetration tests, including those spanning 2-3 weeks, for web applications, source code auditing, network penetration tests, mobile penetration tests, and cloud-based configuration reviews.
  • Strong grasp of vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Capable of maintaining focus on clearly defined objectives as required by clients.
  • Well-organized with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated technical curiosity and self-motivation.
  • Ability to think creatively to formulate and test attack theories for vulnerability detection based on target understanding.
  • Commitment to the cybersecurity field and readiness to support AppGate as needed.
  • Willingness to share knowledge with the team and act as a mentor in areas of expertise, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
