Senior Pensions Calculation Specialist Job Description

Lead with expertise, deliver with impact and shape the future of pensions. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Business Solutions function as a Senior Pensions Calculation Specialist.

As a key member of our team, you will work alongside highly skilled onshore and offshore specialists supporting a wide range of Defined Benefit (DB) occupational pension schemes. You will play a vital role in driving technical excellence, improving ways of working and creating greater efficiency across our delivery model.

  • Anticipate client needs, identifying practical solutions to calculation suites.
  • Create tailored client solutions for complex service offerings to provide exceptional experiences to clients.
  • Interact with third parties such as scheme actuaries and solicitors to clarify complex and technical queries.
  • Build confidence in expressing ideas in conference calls or dealing with challenging situations.
  • Provide an efficient, professional service to meet all client needs and promote the WTW brand.
  • Accountable for the delivery of all projects within your capacity.
  • Work towards developing and optimizing end-to-end automation.
  • Contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and single-team culture to increase end-to-end automation efficiencies and results.

Key Qualifications:

  • Strong background in UK occupational pensions.
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work well within ambiguity.
  • Adeptness at learning new technology and tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to think through problems and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work on virtual teams.
  • Process driven with ability to modify approach.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel & Word.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize own workload.
  • Problem-solving and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a self-sustaining contributor or as part of a broader team.
  • Experience establishing standards and procedures and advocate best practices.
  • Some knowledge of Unix-based operating systems, use of the command line and SQL is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
