Procurement Project Manager Job Description

This is a hybrid role that combines project management and procurement expertise to deliver efficient and cost-effective value-added purchasing support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the project procurement strategy using input from customer's tender documents, project management plans, project schedules, project design documentation, proposal documents, and project financial data.
  • Challenge acquisition needs and requirements, promoting design-to-cost analysis with suppliers during the solution definition phase.
  • Create work packages including all required information to enable an RFQ/RFP (statement of work, delivery schedules, budget, etc.).
  • Assign work packages to relevant Category Managers/Category Buyers.
  • Manage supply chain architecture development to meet project needs, with support from Regional and Global Category Management.
  • Optimize supply chain costs early in the life cycle to achieve savings against budget.
  • Play a key role in defining and implementing strategies to meet U.S. Federal Procurement requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Procurement Management or ISM certifications.
  • Project Management certification.
  • Experience performing similar activities.
  • Track record of success in a similar role in a relevant business or market.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Project management skills - planning, time management, problem solving, communication, and teamwork.
  • Interpersonal skills - ability to excel working in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks while meeting deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to influence to deliver business results.
