About the Role

Genpact is seeking a highly skilled Storage Administrator to join our team. As a Storage Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining storage and backup infrastructure within our data center environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and object storage solutions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain backup and recovery solutions for critical data and systems.
  • Monitor storage and backup performance metrics, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Provide L2/L3 support for storage and backup-related incidents and service requests escalated from L1 support teams.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices for storage and backup environments to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including configuration guides, operational procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Generate reports on storage and backup performance, capacity, and health metrics.
  • Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT teams to ensure integrated and efficient storage and backup operations.
  • Manage changes to storage and backup environments through rigorous testing, coordination, and documentation to minimize risks and disruptions.
  • Coordinate with storage and backup vendors and service providers to resolve escalated issues and optimize storage and backup services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 4-6 years of experience in managing and supporting storage and backup infrastructure within a large enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and object storage solutions.
  • Experience with backup and recovery solutions.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing storage arrays and backup software.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages for automation and management tasks related to storage and backup.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in storage and backup technologies.
  • Experience with cloud storage and backup solutions.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and support.
