Transportation Strategy Manager

The ideal candidate will oversee the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of a comprehensive transportation strategy across the distribution network.

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Operations, Demand Management, Category, Logistics, and brand leadership to ensure Supply Chain objectives are met or surpassed.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine efficient routing strategies and backhaul operations.
  • Lead the industry in advancing network competencies and standards, promoting ADUSA's interests.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage transportation systems, including capacity planning, on-time delivery optimization, and initiative planning capacity.
  • Partner with Logistics and Supply Chain Senior Operational Leadership to develop, analyze, and report transportation key performance indicators.
  • Maintain compliance programs to ensure consistent application of standard operating procedures.
  • Evaluate Federal, State, and Local regulations for driver daily hours.
  • Provide technical guidance for Transportation asset optimization based on strategy.
  • Lead the optimization and financial performance of initiatives, such as fleet for hire rates and backhaul revenue.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party vendors and system providers for maximum service while optimizing costs.
  • Provide leadership that motivates employees and promotes change and growth.
  • Support the implementation of a continuous improvement culture.
  • Offer routing optimization, team leadership, backhaul management, data analytics, and reporting.
Requirements
  • 8 years of experience in Grocery Supply Chain and/or Transportation Management.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • 4+ years Project Management or Advanced Continuous Improvement methodology experience.
