Job Overview

The Accounting Manager AVP oversees the month-end close process, prepares and submits reports to local regulators, and manages entity-wide Balance Sheet Reconciliation Processes.

  • Key tasks involve reconciliation and GL review processes/projects requiring data manipulation and spreadsheets;
  • Calculation of amounts and raising of relevant general ledger journals for specific accounts;
  • Financial and regulatory reporting to group as required;
  • Work on projects to automate and streamline areas of the month-end process;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external regulations and procedures;
  • Production and review of primary and supplementary data for group reporting together with detailed business commentary;
  • Liaising with business and other support areas;
  • Managing stakeholders and producing ad-hoc analysis for senior management;
  • Participating in local product discussions;
  • Contributing to system changes and transformation projects;
  • Implementing new reporting requirements;
  • Closely liaising with auditors and facilitating their requests

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant with proficiency in IFRS and Bacen GAAP;
  • Ability to understand financial activities, products, processes, and systems;
  • Ability to analyze data and possess medium to advanced Excel and database skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, time management, and prioritization of work tasks;
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and proven rapid learning capability;
  • Experience working in an accounting role for a financial institution;
  • English and Portuguese proficiency;
  • Accounting degree;
  • CRC;
