Compliance Expertise

The Compliance Leader is responsible for spearheading all aspects of the compliance program across Latin America. This role will drive compliance initiatives and support broader company needs. It involves prevention, detection, mitigation, and corrective action.

  • Gain a deep understanding of the business, organization, relevant industry regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement an effective compliance strategy for the Latin America region.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams and stakeholders to foster leadership engagement and host Compliance Review Boards.
  • Establish a Compliance Culture across the Latin America Region by ensuring compliance is viewed as a foundational pillar and employees are aware of the program, policies, and procedures.
  • Support commercial-focused compliance through third-party due diligence risk management, risk mitigation, introduction of new markets or strategies.
  • Ensure compliance controls are effectively operational and aid the central program team in implementing new requirements or addressing monitoring gaps.
  • Contribute to the Open Reporting program by assisting in investigations and collaborating with the reporting team on trend analysis and risk identification.
  • Provide expertise in critical matters such as government investigations, high-priority legal investigations, monitoring, and internal audits.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments for the Latin America region and develop mitigation plans globally.
  • Visit sites as needed to support compliance culture implementation, processes, and controls.
  • Continually review and evaluate laws and regulations impacting the business in Latin America.
  • Identify strategic responses and lead improvements where necessary.
  • Offer business-level support on the implementation and execution of Compliance Enterprise Standards, training, communications, monitoring outcomes, or data analytics requests.
  • Assist with broader Power Compliance teams on business-wide objectives, compliance-related duties, special projects, and initiatives supporting the overall compliance program.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with significant work experience in Compliance or a related field.
  • Strong motivation to work in the compliance area.
  • Ability to indirectly lead teams and projects, experience leading teams and projects in previous roles.
  • Capacity to work with and influence all levels of the organization from C-suite leaders to process and program owners.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned projects and tasks.
  • Interview and investigative skills.
  • Ability to locate and analyze facts to determine relevance.
  • Interacts, communicates, and works effectively with business and other team members.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, excellent interpersonal skills, and personal accountability.
  • Strong perseverance to be a change agent within the business.
