The Fleet Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning and implementation of all aspects of company fleet operations.
Key areas of responsibility include:
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures to optimize fleet performance, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
• Overseeing vehicle inspection, maintenance, and repair processes to ensure operational readiness.
• Coordinating with internal personnel and external service providers to achieve seamless maintenance and repair services.
• Managing vehicle acquisition, registration, replacement, and disposal processes to align with lifecycle goals and cost-efficiency strategies.
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding vehicle inspections, driver qualifications, and safety standards.
• Monitoring fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and vehicle utilization, then implementing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Maintaining accurate records related to vehicle usage, maintenance history, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
• Utilizing fleet management software to track fleet performance and prepare regular reports for leadership decision-making.
• Overseeing driver safety programs, including training, monitoring, and adherence to company driving standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborating with operations and logistics teams to support business planning and resource allocation.
This position operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.
Requirements- Proven experience as a Fleet Operations Manager or similar role.
- Ability to travel at least two weeks per quarter for regional events.
- Strong knowledge of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, and industry best practices.
- Experience using fleet management software and vehicle tracking systems.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage vendor relationships and service contracts.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to effectively oversee a team of drivers or field staff.
- Valid driver's license.
