Occupational Medicine Specialist Job Description

This role plays a vital part in ensuring the health and safety of employees in the workplace.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform workers' health assessments and occupational exams to identify potential health risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Diagnose work-related illnesses and accidents, including arranging for physical and professional rehabilitation.
  • Monitor work environment factors and work practices that may affect workers' health, including sanitary facilities, canteens/restaurants, and living areas.
  • Provide advice on the planning and organization of work, including designing workplaces, choosing and maintaining equipment, and selecting materials used in the work.
  • Participate in developing programs to improve work practices and test new equipment for health aspects.
  • Offer guidance on health, safety, and hygiene at work, ergonomics, and individual and collective protection equipment.
  • Evaluate the toxic potential of chemical products regarding their toxicity.
  • Monitor the health of workers related to work.
  • Advocate for adapting work to employees.
  • Contribute to professional readaptation measures.
  • Prepare opinions and/or reports.
  • Collaborate in disseminating information, training, and education in health and hygiene at work, as well as in ergonomics.
  • Organize first aid and emergency services, including continued education programs for first aid and CPR, vaccination, diabetes, hypertension, and other campaigns.
  • Participate in analyzing work accidents and occupational diseases.
  • Prepare individual medical records for employees with data obtained from medical examinations, assessments, and complementary examinations, conclusions, and measures adopted.
Qualifications & Experiences:
  • Specialization in Occupational Medicine
  • Registration in the RQE - Registration of Qualification by Specialty
  • Registration in the CRM
  • Experience working in the industry
  • 1 year of work experience
  • Knowledge of the SOC system
