We are seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our customer base by conducting enhanced due diligence reviews and ongoing monitoring of high-risk customers, adhering to applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Due Diligence Reviews: Conduct thorough reviews of high-risk customers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintenance of Customer Records: Maintain accurate records of all due diligence checks, customer files, and ensure proper organization and documentation.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding additional information required from customers and follow up on requests.
  • Progress Tracking: Track and report progress of customer reviews, including percentage completed, sign-off status, pending responses, and action plans to obtain necessary information.
  • PEP and Sanctions Screening: Review escalated potential PEP and sanctions screening matches, determining any additional information required to confirm or rule out a match.
  • Senior Management Approval: Coordinate required approvals from senior management and prepare supporting documentation associated with customers.
  • Customer Risk Profiles: Update customer risk profiles following significant changes or trigger events.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Collaborate with the Reporting team, ensuring timely information for regulatory filings and ad hoc requests.
Requirements:
  • Education: University graduate with an excellent academic background, or equivalent experience in compliance or regulatory affairs at a Canadian government agency or online gaming company.
  • AML Experience: Previous AML experience at a FINTRAC-regulated entity or familiarity with Canadian AML regulations.
  • Screening Experience: Experience with screening new customers for PEPs, sanctioned individuals, and negative news is strongly preferred.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility regarding schedule, including occasional weekend and holiday work as needed.
