Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our graduate recruitment and enrollment outreach efforts. As the Assistant Director of Recruitment and Enrollment Outreach, you will play a pivotal role in attracting, engaging, and converting prospective graduate students through strategic recruitment, promotion, and outreach initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in digital marketing, graphic design, and social media management, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. They will be able to develop effective working relationships with faculty, campus officials, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.

This position requires interaction with various stakeholders, including Graduate School staff members, academic department chairs, directors of graduate studies, admissions committees, graduate faculty, and graduate students. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work autonomously, and prioritize tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Executing comprehensive graduate recruitment strategies to attract, engage, and convert prospective graduate students interested in our graduate programs
  2. Managing wide-ranging outreach efforts to prospective graduate students, utilizing various digital marketing channels to execute targeted communications campaigns, including social media, email marketing, online advertising, and virtual and in-person events
  3. Collaborating with academic departments to understand program offerings and to assist in effectively communicating their unique value to potential students
  4. Executing design of visually appealing, compelling, and on-brand graphics, videos, and other multimedia content to effectively communicate the value of our graduate programs
  5. Managing and optimizing social media and peer engagement platforms to engage with potential candidates, showcasing the vibrant intellectual community within the Graduate School
  6. Conducting market research to identify trends and opportunities for attracting, engaging, and converting prospective students interested in our graduate programs
  7. Analyzing data and key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of recruitment and enrollment outreach initiatives and adjust strategies as needed
  8. SUPPORTING THE MANAGEMENT OF DEPARTMENTAL AD-HOC ENROLLMENT-RELATED DATA REQUESTS FROM INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS
  9. Coordinate and participate in recruitment events, both virtual and in-person, on and off-campus to engage with potential candidates and provide information about our graduate programs
  10. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication channels and platforms
Competencies:
  • Strong proficiency in graphic design tools and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), as well as social media platforms
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing, including social media management, email marketing, and online advertising
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft and deliver compelling and persuasive content tailored to different audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with faculty, campus officials, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds is required
  • Experience in using and interpreting data to inform decision-making and assess the success of recruitment and enrollment efforts
  • Prior advanced knowledge of data analysis and data organization in Microsoft Office Excel
  • Event planning and logistics coordination experience with high level of attention to detail and strong organization
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously
  • Knowledge of higher education enrollment trends and a passion for creating an inclusive and dynamic learning environment
  • Understanding of and experience using Salesforce, Slate, or LiasonCAS (or similar CRM system) is a plus
