Senior Claims Manager for Latin America

This position leads the P&C claims management in the Market Unit Latin America and Caribbean. The role is responsible for managing a team of experienced claim experts across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the P&C claims strategy for the Latin America and Caribbean region, aligning with Swiss Re's overall business strategy.
  • Manage the P&C claims portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate reporting on individual claims and portfolio level.
  • Promote Swiss Re's brand by building relationships with regional stakeholders, including clients, brokers, and other partners.
  • Provide thought leadership on key topics impacting the industry and Swiss Re's strategy within the relevant markets.
  • Develop and implement solutions to complex problems, leveraging expertise in reinsurance, insurance, and risk transfer.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Global Claims, Centre of Excellence Claims, Client Underwriters, Risk Management, and Finance, to ensure alignment and effective implementation of strategies.

About You:

  • A seasoned professional with at least 7 years of experience in P&C claims handling, market trends, products, and developments.
  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to manage diverse cultures and backgrounds, connect the dots end-to-end, and build effective working relationships.
  • Inspirational leadership that stimulates transformation and adaptation, with excellent interpersonal skills, motivational coaching, and teamwork promotion.
  • Excellent financial and statistical acumen, with understanding of reserving rationale and resulting impacts.
  • Ability to navigate challenging situations while maintaining balance and attentiveness.

About the Team:

  • The team consists of 7 highly knowledgeable claims experts with diverse backgrounds, located in Mexico City, Bogota, and Sao Paulo.
  • You will report directly to the Market Unit Head of Latin America and the Caribbean and contribute strategically, lederally, and functionally.
