About the Role

This leadership position plays a pivotal role in shaping the P&C Claims landscape within Latin America and the Caribbean. As the lead, you will be responsible for overseeing claims management across the region, fostering collaboration among teams, and driving strategic initiatives to optimize results.

Key responsibilities include leading a team of experienced claim experts, providing guidance on large claims, ensuring consistency and adequacy of case reserves, and maintaining accurate reporting. You will also play a key role in promoting Swiss Re's brand, building relationships with regional stakeholders, and providing thought leadership on industry-relevant topics.

In this capacity, you will have the opportunity to drive impactful projects that align with our value proposition, leveraging your expertise to deliver strong links between the Market Unit, Global Claims, and other areas. Your influence will extend to coordinating governance and compliance-related matters, ensuring seamless execution of market strategies across all client segments.

About the Team

The team comprises 7 highly knowledgeable claims experts with diverse backgrounds, operating from Mexico City, Bogota, and Sao Paulo. As the leader, you will report directly to the Market Unit Head of Latin America and the Caribbean, contributing strategically to the Latin America and Caribbean Leadership Team.

About You

We are seeking an accomplished leader with exceptional interpersonal skills, who embodies the Corporate Values and fosters a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate possesses:

  • No less than 7 years of experience in re / insurance P&C portfolio-based claim handling, including a deep understanding of markets, products, trends, and developments.
  • A seasoned personality capable of representing Swiss Re at senior executive management levels.
  • An ability to manage diverse teams, connect the dots end-to-end, and build effective working relationships across markets and functional areas.
  • Inspirational leadership qualities to align talent with strategy and stimulate transformation.
  • Excellent financial and statistical acumen, with an understanding of reserving rationale and its impacts.
  • The ability to navigate challenging situations while maintaining balance and attentiveness.
