Job Summary:

This role involves managing the entity-wide Balance Sheet Reconciliation Process (BSRS) and performing various tasks to ensure financial accuracy. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills, proficiency in IFRS and Bacen GAAP, and experience working in an accounting role for a financial institution.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Performing month-end close process;
  • Preparing and submitting reports to local regulators;
  • Preparation of local financial statements;
  • Managing the BSRS process;
  • Work on reconciliation and GL review processes/projects involving data manipulation;
  • Calculation of amounts and raising of relevant general ledger journals;
  • Financial and regulatory reporting to group as required;
  • Automating and streamlining areas of the month-end process;
  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations;
  • Production and review of primary and supplementary data for group reporting;
  • Liaising with business and other areas of support;
  • Managing stakeholders and producing ad-hoc analysis for senior management;
  • Participating in local product discussions;
  • Contributing to system changes and transformation projects;
  • Implementing new reporting requirements;
  • Closely liaising with auditors and facilitating their requests

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant;
  • Proficiency in IFRS and Bacen GAAP;
  • Ability to understand HSBC's activities, products, processes, and systems;
  • Ability to analyze data and possess medium to advanced Excel and database skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, tact, and diplomacy;
  • Excellent time management and prioritization of work tasks;
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and rapid learning capability;
  • Experience working in an accounting role for a financial institution;
  • English and Portuguese proficiency;
  • Accounting degree;
  • CRC
