Job Title: Senior Tax Specialist

This is a senior-level position that requires expertise in tax management and leadership. The ideal candidate will have experience in direct and indirect taxes in Brazil, with a strong understanding of tax legislation and regulations.

The successful candidate will lead the tax team, overseeing all tax-related activities and ensuring compliance with current tax laws. They will work strategically to optimize the tax burden and manage the team's performance.

  • Leadership and Management: Develop and manage the tax team, delegating tasks and monitoring performance to ensure deadlines and goals are met.
  • Tax Planning: Conduct in-depth analyses and studies on tax planning to identify opportunities for tax savings and optimize the tax structure.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate calculation and payment of federal, state, and municipal taxes, including Corporate Income Tax (IRPJ), Social Contribution on Net Profit (CSLL), PIS, COFINS, ICMS, IPI, and ISS.
  • Ancillary Obligations: Supervise preparation and submission of all ancillary tax obligations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Audits and Inspections: Coordinate internal and external audits and tax inspections, providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive management reports and detailed analyses on the tax landscape, presenting results and recommendations to senior management.
  • Legislative Updates: Stay up-to-date on changes in tax legislation, communicating impacts to the organization and implementing necessary adaptations.
  • Process Optimization: Propose and implement improvements in tax processes to increase efficiency and reduce risks.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Law, with a postgraduate degree or MBA in Taxation being advantageous.
  • Professional Experience: Proven management experience in the tax/fiscal area, with expertise in direct and indirect taxes in Brazil.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong proficiency in tax calculation, ancillary obligations, and tax legislation, with knowledge of ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle) being beneficial.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent logical reasoning and analytical skills to solve complex problems and make strategic decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication to interact with the team, other departments, and tax authorities.
  • Language: Advanced English is desirable, especially for organizations with international operations.
