Job Title

A Programme Management Officer will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects. They will monitor and analyse programme/project development and implementation, review relevant documents and reports, and identify problems and issues to be addressed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement and evaluate assigned programmes/projects in line with unit objectives;
  • Monitor and analyse programme/project development and implementation;
  • Review relevant documents and reports, identifying problems and issues to be addressed;
  • Liaise with relevant parties, including government officials and external consultants;
  • Design data collection tools, review and interpret responses, and prepare conclusions;
  • Prepare various written outputs, such as draft background papers and analysis sections;
  • Provide substantive support to meetings and conferences, including proposing agenda topics and preparing documents and presentations;
  • Participate in or lead field missions, providing guidance to external consultants and government officials.
Required Skills and Qualifications

For this role, you will need:

  • An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field;
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or a related area;
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in Portuguese is desirable;
  • Acquaintance with national institutional settings is required;
  • Prior experience working with or as counterpart in development cooperation related projects with the Brazilian government or any other Latin American country is desirable;
  • Experience conducting studies on issues related with environmentally sustainable economic development in Brazil is desirable.
