Job Description

The Senior Accounting Manager is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the activities of several staff members, including accounting managers and accountants. The role involves providing outsourced controllership and advisory services to clients. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements that comply with DCAA, FAR, CAS, and GAAP.

This position requires excellent leadership skills, as well as the ability to multitask and set daily, weekly, and monthly priorities. A proactive problem-solving nature and strong technical and analytical focus are also essential.

  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
  • Prepare and manage client budgets, cash forecasts, and monthly financial reports
  • Manage the month-end closing and issue financial reports to all clients
  • Identify variances from the budget and report significant variances to clients

Strong communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work effectively in a virtual environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality results.

Key Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an active CPA or CMA with extensive knowledge in accounting for businesses in the under $20M market. At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in public accounting and 5+ years in private industry, is required.

  • 5 years supervisory experience
  • Government contracting industry experience is highly desirable
  • Ability to multi-task and set daily, weekly, and monthly priorities
  • Adaptive leadership style with a passion for mentoring staff
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
