Senior Legal Counsel Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Legal Counsel to join our organization. In this pivotal role, you will be the primary legal advisor on all employment law matters, providing expert counsel and guidance to leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Provide in-depth analysis of Brazilian employment law, regulations, and labor practices.
  • Develop and implement effective workforce strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Negotiate and manage collective bargaining agreements with relevant unions, ensuring alignment with company objectives and local legislation.
  • Create, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and employee documentation.
  • Design and deliver training programs for management on labor law compliance and collective bargaining strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in labor legislation, providing proactive advice on potential impacts and strategic responses.
  • Manage employment-related disputes, grievances, and disciplinary actions, minimizing risk for the organization.
  • Collaborate with global legal teams to implement company-wide initiatives and harmonize labor practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Law; postgraduate specialization in Employment Law or Labor Relations is highly desirable.
  • Admitted to practice law in Brazil.
  • Strong experience (PQE) focused exclusively on employment law, preferably within a multinational or technology-driven environment.
  • Proven track record in leading collective bargaining negotiations and union relations.
  • Strong knowledge of Brazilian labor legislation, jurisprudence, and regulatory landscape.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in Portuguese; professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively across diverse teams.
