Employer Engagement Lead

This role serves as a key point of contact for employer engagement within a specific industry, working closely with the Career Management team to integrate employers into the academic and career development process.

The Employer Engagement Lead is responsible for developing and enhancing relationships with employers to generate new work opportunities for students and alumni, focusing on internships and other forms of experiential education.

Supporting grants awarded, this individual will also focus on employer engagement and job development.

Local travel is a routine aspect of this role, with occasional weekend/evening work required as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as industry lead for specific career pathways and sectors.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with industries to gain insights into workforce needs, labor market trends, and relevant policies.
  • Conduct consultations with employers to identify talent pipeline needs, partnerships, and opportunities for students.
  • Develop and enhance relationships with employers to generate new work opportunities for students and alumni, focusing on internships and experiential education.
  • Collaborate with career center staff and leadership to ensure ongoing employer involvement in departmental workshops, presentations, and programming.
Essential Qualifications:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective engagement with various stakeholders (students, employers, faculty, etc.).

Exceptional problem-solving skills to address challenges in program delivery, employer relations, and student development.

Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.

Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office applications, Discord, Trello, and Zoom.
